Quora Ads — Creative

Create ad copy and image assets for Quora Ads that match the platform's question-and-answer context. Quora users are in research mode — they are reading answers to problems they have. Ad creative must feel like a credible answer, not a display ad.

Ad Formats

Image Ad (recommended for B2B)

  • Business name: Company name (auto-populated from account)
  • Headline: Max 65 characters. This is the primary hook.
  • Body text: Max 105 characters. Supporting value proposition.
  • CTA button: Learn More | Sign Up | Download | Get Quote | Contact Us
  • Image: 1200x628px recommended (600x315px minimum), PNG/JPG, max 2MB
  • Destination URL: Landing page URL with UTM parameters

Text Ad

  • Same as Image Ad but without an image
  • Lower production effort, can outperform Image Ads on Quora because they blend with content
  • Test Text Ads against Image Ads in every campaign

Video Ad

  • Video file: MP4 or MOV, max 500MB, 15-60 seconds recommended
  • Use for awareness campaigns or complex product demos
  • Auto-plays muted in feed — first 3 seconds must hook without audio

Quora users on problem-aware question pages already know they have a problem. They are looking for solutions. Creative should:

Comparison hook — for solution-aware overlap:

  • Headline: "Looking for a [Competitor] alternative?"
  • Body: "Compare features side-by-side. No signup required."

Social proof hook — leverage credibility:

  • Headline: "Why 500+ SaaS teams switched to [Product]"
  • Body: "Read the case study. Real results, real numbers."

Creative Production Workflow

For an agent generating ad creative:

Step 1: Gather inputs

Collect from CRM, product positioning doc, or previous campaign data:

  • ICP pain points (top 3)
  • Product differentiators (top 3)
  • Proof points (customer counts, metrics, case study results)
  • Landing page URL and offer (what the user gets when they click)

Step 2: Generate variants

Create 3-5 ad variants per ad set, each using a different hook template:

If using Image Ads:

  • Create 1200x628px images using design tools (Figma, Canva, or programmatic generation)
  • Include: headline text overlay (reinforces the ad headline), brand logo, product screenshot or abstract visual
  • Avoid stock photos of people — they underperform on Quora
  • Use contrasting colors against Quora's white/red UI for standout

Quora-Specific Creative Rules

  1. No clickbait: Quora rejects ads with misleading claims. Headline must match landing page content.
  2. No ALL CAPS: Quora editorial guidelines prohibit all-caps headlines.
  3. Landing page consistency: The ad promise must be immediately visible on the landing page. If the ad says "free checklist," the checklist must be accessible without a paywall.
  4. No direct competitor disparagement: Comparative ads are allowed, but they must be factual. "Why teams switch from X" is fine; "X is terrible" will be rejected.
  5. Approval timeline: Quora manually reviews all ads. Expect 24-48 hours for approval. Submit ads 2-3 days before planned launch.
