Instructions
Record and Share Loom Videos
Step-by-step
- Install the Loom desktop app or Chrome extension from loom.com.
- Choose your recording mode: Screen + Cam (best for demos), Camera only (for personal messages), or Screen only (for tutorials).
- Set up your recording: select which screen or window to share, position your camera bubble, and check audio input.
- Plan before recording: outline the 3-5 key points you want to cover. Keep videos under 5 minutes for prospect outreach, under 10 for demos.
- Record: click the Loom button, give a brief intro ('Hey [Name], I recorded this quick video for you...'), walk through your points, and end with a clear CTA.
- Edit the recording: trim the start and end, remove any awkward pauses using Loom's basic editor.
- Add a CTA button: Loom lets you add a clickable button to the video — link to your booking page, pricing, or a relevant resource.
- Set privacy settings: choose 'Anyone with the link' for outreach, or 'Workspace only' for internal videos.
- Share the video: copy the Loom link and embed it in your email, LinkedIn message, or Slack.
- Use Loom videos in cold outreach: personalized video messages have significantly higher engagement than text-only emails.
