Manage Content in Airtable

Use Airtable as a content calendar and asset management system for planning, tracking, and organizing marketing content.

Instructions

Manage Content in Airtable

Step-by-step

  1. Create a new Airtable base for content management.
  2. Build a 'Content Calendar' table: columns for Title, Type (blog, social, email), Status (Draft, Review, Published), Author, Publish Date, Channel, and URL.
  3. Add a 'Content Assets' table: track images, videos, and documents with file attachments, tags, and usage history.
  4. Create views for different needs: Calendar view (by publish date), Kanban view (by status), and Grid view (for bulk editing).
  5. Link tables: connect Content items to Assets, and to a Campaigns table for tracking which campaign each piece supports.
  6. Add automation: send a Slack notification when a piece moves to 'Review' status, or when the publish date is today.
  7. Use forms: create an Airtable form for content requests from the team — it auto-populates the content calendar.
  8. Track performance: add columns for Views, Clicks, Conversions after publishing. Update weekly.
  9. Build a content pipeline: at any time, you should see content in Draft, Review, Scheduled, and Published stages.
  10. Connect to n8n: automate data syncs between Airtable and your publishing tools (Ghost, LinkedIn, Buffer).
