Instructions
-
Run the icp-definition drill to define who you are looking for at events: target industries, company sizes, job titles, and pain points your 60-second demo addresses.
-
Run the event-scouting drill in minimal mode: identify 3-5 upcoming local events in the next 2 weeks. Score each for ICP density (speaker/sponsor match), venue accessibility (hotel lobbies are ideal), and event size (200+ attendees).
-
Pick the single best event. Note 5-10 ICP-match speakers or sponsors to look for.
-
Prepare your demo kit: load product on laptop and phone (offline-ready), prepare a 60-second and 3-minute demo script, generate a Cal.com QR code for booking follow-ups, create a simple logging method (notes app or form) to capture name, company, title, interest level (1-5), pain point, and next step per conversation.
-
Human action required: attend the event in person. Show up 30 minutes early. Position near coffee, registration, or the lobby. Between sessions, stand in hallways. At lunch, sit at communal tables. Start conversations with context ('What did you think of the keynote?'), listen for pain signals, then offer a quick demo when relevant.
-
Log every conversation immediately after it ends. Do not rely on memory for more than 2 conversations.
-
Within 4 hours of the event: connect on LinkedIn with everyone you spoke with (reference the specific conversation), email anyone interest level 4-5 with your booking link, log all contacts in Attio.
-
Run the threshold-engine drill to evaluate: >= 5 conversations started AND >= 1 follow-up meeting booked. If PASS, proceed to Baseline. If FAIL, diagnose (wrong event, wrong venue, or wrong approach) and re-run at a different event.
