Instructions
-
Run the analyst-target-research drill: use Clay to identify 5-10 niche analysts and consultants (Tier 3-4) who cover your market category. Score each on coverage relevance, buyer access, and accessibility. Export scored analysts to an Attio list.
-
For each target analyst, research their 2-3 most recent publications. Note the terminology they use for your category, their evaluation criteria, and competitors they cover. Store notes in Attio.
-
Run the briefing-deck-preparation drill: for your top 5 analysts, generate a tailored one-page briefing document using the Claude API. Customize each to the analyst's coverage area and terminology. Prepare a 30-minute meeting agenda with 3 discussion topics.
-
Human action required: review every briefing document before sending. Verify metrics are accurate and competitive positioning is defensible.
-
Human action required: send briefing requests personally (email or LinkedIn DM). Reference the analyst's specific recent work, explain what your company does using their terminology, state the ask (30 min briefing), and include a Cal.com booking link.
-
Human action required: conduct each briefing personally following the prepared agenda. At minute 25, ask directly: 'Who in your network would benefit from learning about what we are building?' Log engagement and follow-up requests in Attio.
-
Run the threshold-engine drill to evaluate: did you complete >=1 analyst briefing meeting? If PASS, proceed to Baseline. If FAIL, diagnose: low response rate (targeting/messaging), scheduling difficulty (more lead time needed), or no analysts found (category too niche).
